We replaced a Viking stove top telescopic down draft with this unit. It is so much nicer and quieter than the Viking. The vent configuration was a bit different but my husband used flexible material to accommodate and it looks great.

I purchased this for our newly built home and was very disappointed that even though the foam seal that goes between the counter top and cook top did not come with it!! In the instructions this part is listed as a letter G part. When I called to Have the send me the missing part. They claimed it wasn’t supposed to come with the cooktop! I find it hard to believe that this part is not needed and shouldn’t have come with the cooktop and it is clearly marked as a part. This simple but frustrating situation is causing me to not choose further kitchen aide products for my new home. I had a kitchen aide double oven picked out along with other kitchen aide products that I will not purchase because of this! It’s always been my understanding that kitchen aide was a company that stood behind their products and are for customer service. I no longer believe this as no one in the service department or ABC Warehouse are willing to get this part for me!
