Good but a pain to clean

Bought this range a few months ago. Overall it works very well and looks sharp. My biggest complaint would be trying to keep it clean. The controls are so sensitive that every time I wipe the top down one or both ovens try to start. The top grates are heavy and interlock so it is a pain to try and clean underneath them which needs to happen on a daily basis. The oven cleaning function is supposed to be steam cleaning and you are told not to use any oven cleaners or to put foil down in the bottom of the oven. The steam clean barely works though. I scraped off any excess spilled food and still had to re-scrape and run the steam clean multiple times and never got it completely clean.
Love all the great features

I bought a year ago it is a replacement for my jenn-aire which I loved. If you want a good self cleaning oven this is not for you. It does not come clean. The only section that comes clean is the bottom where you put distilled water. Very disappointed in this range. Takes a while to figure the stovetop. Be very careful what pans you put where so food does not burn.
STATE OF THE ART!

Our new Kitchenaid Range replaces a 25+ year old Viking. Since my Viking was so old I wasn't up to date all the new technology in appliances these days. Also, I purchased the Kitchenaid Range, site unseen as the model the salesrep sold me was not available on the floor. My Viking had a backsplash and I didn't realize the tilework didn't meet the counter so when the Kitchenaid Range was installed, I now have a 4" gap and the added annoyance/expense of how to fix this. The range itself is fine. It bakes, broils and roasts terrific! I like the cooktop with the various size burners and the griddle in the middle. Here are my negatives: I'm 65 with a bit of arthritis so cleaning it is a bit combersome as I have to lift the entire (right or left) grill (which is heavy) to get under it. There is a digital panel on top/front to turn on the oven. This is a weird spot because it can turn on so easily (accidentally) with a touch of your finger when cleaning or just reaching over. The Range also has this annoying fan that stays on after you shut the oven off. The fan stays on until the oven cools down. These are not problems, just something I need to get used to in the modern world.
