After 24 years my Whirlpool Compactor still worked but was very noisy! This new one has a handle that looks good and will support a towel near the sink, perfect!! It's is quiet and does the job.

had this installed in November. Had to have the starter replaced in December. Starter was acting up again, so repair guy installed another new part in January. Hoping this takes care of it. Hoping I didn't get a lemon

Increasingly harder to close. But worse than that, when closed, the upper portion of the compactor, including the door and interior, can be easily "moved" side-to-side four or five inches. We thought was defective but technician who looked at it said, "Yes, it needs a 'top' rail/support, but Whirlpool saved a little money by not including it." (Paraphrased) This cost us almost $1,000, including installation, and it is as close to "junk" as possible. The white GE that it replaced was FAR superior at 18-years-old! Greatly disappointed.
