After taking out another load of towels with spots on them one day from my previous washing machine, I was finally fed up. The next day I went to my local appliance store and purchased a Speed Queen -- the one with the old fashioned dials, not the one with the electronic panel. When I did my first load of wash with my new machine, I felt as if I had been taken back in time -- I actually felt younger!! For those who remember what a real washing machine is, this is it. When you open the lid, you can see water! You can add enough detergent to actually clean your clothes! In my old machine, it took up to two hours to complete a cycle, which included three extra rinses to get the smell of bleach out of the white towels. My new Speed Queen finishes a load in 35 to 40 minutes and the clothes are clean!! My only hesitancy was that the washer is not a "large capacity". Once I realized I could do two loads in the time it took to do one load in my old washer, I was hooked. And did I mention the clothes are clean!!? I am a Speed Queen owner for life. Now if only they made dishwashers -- I can only dream!
