I had the older Opel version before GE took the product over. So far this 2.0 version from GE is much quieter and needs less input with the extra tank.

I waited until the ice maker went on sale to purchase. Even so I think it’s overpriced. However, I still like it. I ran the clean function several times as instructed and connected to it using the app. The app says I need to descale but really, I just got it and use filtered water. Once I made enough ice to fill my fridge ice bin, I set a schedule to make ice three days a week, two hours each day. My living area is fairly close to the kitchen and I notice the noise. It’s not loud but noticeable. The ice quality is softer than Sonic ice which I use to purchase regularly before I bought this ice maker.
