i bought a new freezer and experienced a significant issue that caused allthe foodto thaw out. i was very upset and lost alot of food. originally. i gave this a 1 star but have upgraded to a 4 star because of samsung care. they got a service call dispatched. they replace a faulty main board and it’s been working great ever since. i was upset i lost money on the spoiled food but was very happy that samsung stood behind their products. they fixed freezer in timely matter and compensated me for the lost food. integrity is key and they made right for reimbursing me for lost food. i recommend this product.

had my new freezer delivered july 14. 2 weeks later, i noticed all ice cream was melted to liquid firm. freezer light on and temperature showed 0 degrees. all fish and meets were completely thawed as well. tried lowering temperature to below 0 but would not allow me to change. i unplugged and plugged back in and temperature reading was 37 degrees a few seconds later. service came and had to change mother/main board. feedback from repairman was that it was not working correctly and samsung installed wrong board. thats why it would only let him change temp tp -5 instead of the -15 as designed. still waiting for samsung to pay for spoiled/lost food. disappointed in them not reimbursing me for careless workmanship. frustrated and waiting for my lost money….

i am very pleased with my upright freezer, however this is the second samsung appliance i have bought in the last few months in which the "packaging" is less than ideal. a sticker with bar code, s/n, etc was applied to the lower section of the side. it was nearly impossible to remove. i have a bad back and it was about 6" off the floor. i had to use wd40 and a scraper to get it off. something like this should peel off easily. on my refrigerator i still have bits of plastic around my doors where the covering cannot be removed. we had to remove the handles to get the protective covering off there. the fridge is very nice looking except for the plastic sticks out. something needs to be addressed with these 2 issues when the appliance is delivered.

i purchased two of these units to fill a space in my kitchen, and for the price, they were intended to be a showpiece at a bargain. i consider myself pretty mechanically savvy. changing the door orientation on one unit was a task. it's important to note the bottom of the fridge as shown in other reviews does no come with the holes in the plastic as one would think. you have to melt the plastic with a simple trick of heating up a small phillips head screw driver to expose the threaded holes underneath. that one step could cause you concern, but they are threaded underneath, so you can reverse the doors, and be careful taking it apart, its easy to break, or damage. if you can assemble $50.00 legos you can do it, or have your 14yr old do it, ps it has a usb for some reason.
