Induction cooktop is so much better than gas

My first induction stovetop from Frigidaire as lived up to the reviews we had read. It provides safety features by knowing when a pan is on or off a burner and the surface of the stovetop gets warm but not as hot as the pan. With the surface not being so hot, I don't get burnt food on the stovetop and of course avoids burning a hand. It cleans easily with soap and water and occasionally I use the ceramic cleaner to help clean and protect the surface. I really love how the controls are builtin so I can clean right over them, no knobs to clean. It's just great and I'm so glad I bought it. I was so tired of the mess of a gas stove and occasionally we would forget to turn off a burner, and many burns from the flames fanning out around the base of a pan.

Magnetic Pans is a must other wise it will not work. Otherwise we love our new stove.

The center eye only heats on one side. The other large eye doesn't heat evenly and the bridge is useless. It's almost impossible to clean without smearing. If you have OCD...forget about it! I haven't called about the warranty so I can't say whether or not they will take care of the matter.

This was a replacement for our shattered glass cooktop. My husband installed the cooktop himself, and it was fairly easy. I did not realize at the time of purchase that this was an induction cooktop. Our previous cooktop was not, so I was not too thrilled about buying new cookware. But after installation, and learning how to use the cooktop, I have been very pleased. It heats up efficiently, and I like the "powerboil" option. That really helps on cook time. I like the flat control power buttons, and it really looks great in our kitchen. The price was also right - we purchased it half off. I'm glad we went with the Frigidaire.
