Had the washer for about a year and dispenser no longer working. Fill it halfway with detergent and when the wash is done it is filled to the top itch detergent and water. Paying $32 for a new one. Hopefully it’s not an annual occurrence.

I have two of these dispensers. One stopped working and is now filling with water, not adding detergent to our clothes. I called Maytag 3 times and was given very little help. One person I spoke with told me the water in the dispenser was normal. I explained this is new issue but he assured me it was normal and sent me the directions again and told me to read it. Another gentleman offered to have someone come look at it, but also said I’d be responsible for $125 fee if they determine the part is not covered by our warranty. I told him I guess I’d just buy the $30 part myself. Our washer is only 1 year old. Disappointed it broke and equally disappointed in our customer service. They were friendly but unfortunately not helpful.

I am disappointed because I bought the washer on the recommendation of the salesman at the store and not for the automatic detergent dispenser, which has stopped working properly 7 months after I bought it. The liquid level stopped going down after each use and I no longer got the low detergent alert on the washer. The cartridge was full of watered down detergent and I think was getting more diluted each wash so I my loads had less and less detergent. The service tech said it is due to a faulty magnet in the cartridge. Though he said Maytag will replace it, I am concerned it will happen again based on other reviews I am reading.

My detergent dispenser is no longer working properly. It fills with water and no longer reminds me to add detergent. It costs $32 for a new one. The washer is only a year old. This is disappointing given the price paid for the washer.

Had for just under 12 months, to start with we had to play with the settings to get to work. Correctly with our system. Now, the clothes no longer smell clean and the cartridge is full of watered down detergent, more liquid in the cartridge then when I add the detergent. The only way we make get it to clean the clothes is to dump out the cartridge between each wash and add new detergent, we allow the watered down detergent to evaporate the water out so it’s not all wasted.
