We replaced a 7 cu-ft GE garage ready freezer with this because we needed more capacity. The width, front to back, is less than we'd like, which makes it a bit longer than we'd like for our placement of the freezer. And we find that the cover has inadequate counter balance springs (which do not appear to be adjustable), so it is difficult to close without the cover slamming down, especially while hold food in the other hand. Otherwise, it has functioned well this winter, even in a very cold garage setting.
