After getting this and getting it set up I could not wait to try it out! It is absolutely wonderful! It makes perfect ice and I was delightfully surprised at how quickly it was made! It is a little noisy at first but I can definitely over look the noise for the ice it makes! I love it!

I waited a few weeks after installing this ice maker to do my review because I wanted to make sure to try out all aspects of it. This is a great little ice maker. Who doesn’t love the “good ice”?? Even though we have a built in ice maker in our fridge I decided to put it in my kitchen. It was very easy to install and the instructions were very easy to understand. I cleaned, filled the tank and turned it on and within an hour I had ice! It wasn’t long at all before the bucket was full. It came with a scoop and drip tray which are very handy, especially the tray because the machine does drip when you open the bucket to get the ice out. The light inside is a very nice feature. I did have to fill it quite often so the optional side tank is a necessity in my opinion. I did have an issue getting the app to connect. I was never able to get on the app and see what that was all about but I did turn the machine off while we went on vacation and received a notification from the app 2 days after I turned it off. I thought that was odd. Other than that this is a great machine and I love having it!!

We love this ice maker! I have been warned by others to properly clean the hoses regularly and I haven’t had any issues so far. It is very easy to drain and clean regularly. Size wise, it fits perfectly on my kitchen counter top next to the sink and under the overhead cabinets. It measures 16.5 tall x 10 wide x16.5 deep. It runs regularly but not constant. The ice that melts goes right back into the reservoir to turn into more ice. It’s brilliant as no water just stands and the cooling motor isn’t constantly running! The ice is also the perfect bite sized ice for those of you that love to chew ice. Everyone that comes over grabs a red solo cup and gets themselves a scoop of ice to chew on. Added bonus, the ice is small enough to put inside the opening of a 16 oz plastic water or pop bottle! Its wonderful! It takes about 3 hours to fill the canister up. The light looks great also. It looks so nice lit up in the evening. In summary, I do recommend this item. I even convinced my sister to purchase one for our niece who is all about the “perfect ice” and she loves hers too! 5 stars!

If you love nugget ice and want to have it everyday at your own home, you need the GE Profile™ Opal™ Nugget Ice Maker 2.0! It is made to sit on top of any counter, it's portable and there is no installation or water hook-ups required! You just clean it out, plug it in, fill the water reservoir and then in 20 minutes, you have ice! The ice bin is a good size as it holds 3 lbs. of ice. I have mine in my kitchen on a countertop, but I think it would be great in a covered outdoor kitchen or an awesome addition to an at home bar as well. My kids cannot get enough of this ice and it's so much easier to fill up their water bottles with this ice vs. the ice from your refrigerator ice maker. I cannot say enough good things about this ice maker, if you want to make the switch to nugget ice and you want a dependable brand, you cannot go wrong with the Opal™ Nugget Ice Maker 2.0 by GE Profile™.

Pros: 1. The ice maker works very well and it automatically senses when the ice quantity is less. 2. It makes a light humming sound when making nugget sized ice. 3. It’s compact and it makes ice quickly. It makes about 3 pounds of ice. The ice is soft and chewable and it is fun for kids. 4. It is fairly easy to setup and the initial sanitation of the machine is not very complex and quick. 5. The machine is connected via GE cloud and can be accessed using a nicely designed app. 6. Extra features like scheduling is available in the app along with being able to turn on or off the machine and the light. Cons: 1. The machine doesn’t hold the made ice. Eventually the ice melts and the machine begins to make ice even if the ice is not dispensed. So even if you don’t dispense the ice, the machine continues to make ice and the cycle goes on. 2. The inbuilt tank capacity is limited and might need frequent refill depending on how much ice is dispensed.
