Hands down, the most powerful garbage disposal we’ve owned. The installation was simple but the piping needed adjustment since our prior disposal was a different brand.

The unit might be a snap for a plumber to install, but don't try it as a DYI project. It is very difficult for two people, probably impossible for one. Once installed, it leaked internally with water coming out of the electrical connection compartment. We'll be returning it to the store for a refund.

Read the instructions and do at least one dry run before crawling under the sink! Went together fine. Had to use plumbers putty and I am concerned that all three plumber putty brands said to not use the putty on plastic, which is exactly where it was needed (sink flange). Splash guard has a smaller opening than our previous disposall and caught my wife stuffing stuf into the disposall with her fingers.

This is a significant upgrade from our builder supplied 1/3 HP Insinkerator, if you do the research what we had was for infrequently used 2 person vacation home. We are loving our GE 1 HP disposal at a $100 less than the equivalent Insinkerator unit - great!!!
